-Praise for the Economic Era of Chinese |
|
Taiwan is only separated from China by the Taiwan Strait. Hence, not only are we close geographically, culturally and in terms of common heritage, but our economies are also complementary. Putting aside the sensitive political issues, there have been exchanges and collaboration in various fields, such as trade, culture and religion in recent years. With people from the both countries continuing to work closely with each other, common prosperity and development are promoted, which will lead to an economic era that belongs to the Chinese people.
Founded in 1946, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce (TCOC) has been working on the promotion of domestic and international trade, facilitating economic development, coordinating industrial relationships, and assisting the industrial and commercial sectors in the pursuit of common interest. Through the leadership of the previous directors and the current director, Mr. Chang Pen-Tsao, who has been striving since his post as legislator, the TCOC actively promotes trade exchanges between the two countries. Eventually, the business trips to, and exchanges with, China were approved in 1990 despite all the adversities encountered along the way. The then leaders, namely Jiang Zemin and Lee Teng-Hui, both praised him as the pioneer who opened the door of exchanges between the two countries.
Since then, the TOCC has been actively developing services such as business exchanges with China, promoting Taiwan’s successful trade experiences and introducing Chinese trade and investment information, which opened up new horizons and new markets for domestic industries. There have been positive interactions with the relevant organizations and trade promotion systems in China. The process has been truthfully documented through photos. We hope that the earnest business relationships can be continued in the future to create a win-win situation! |
